A Quest to Heal. A Promise to Never Give Up.
Healing Saathi is more than an animal shelter. It is a place where injured, abandoned and special needs animals are given safety, care and another chance at life.
Every Life Deserves Care, Dignity & Hope.
Founded on 17 August 2020, Healing Saathi is a registered trust dedicated to giving sick, injured, abandoned and special needs animals a second chance at life — through rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and lifelong care. Based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Healing Saathi is home to 300+ permanent residents, including dogs, cats, horses, goats and monkeys. Every month, we respond to approximately 30–50 rescue cases, providing animals in need with timely medical attention and care. With a dedicated animal sanctuary and our own fully equipped veterinary hospital, we are able to provide rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and lifelong care under one roof. We work with a simple belief — every animal deserves the right to live a safe, dignified and pain-free life. What began as an individual act of compassion has grown into a place where animals in need can find medical care, shelter, nourishment and, most importantly, a home where they are never treated as unwanted.

Transparency Through Technology.
At Healing Saathi, we believe that every rescue deserves to have its story seen.
We are proud to make our rescue records and treatment updates publicly accessible online, allowing supporters, donors and animal lovers to follow an animal's journey from rescue and treatment to recovery and rehabilitation.
Through our digital platform, you can explore individual rescue details, check treatment progress and witness the real impact of the care and support being provided.
One Person's Compassion Became a Home for Hundreds.
Healing Saathi began with the compassion of its Founder, Mugdha Khatri, whose connection with animals started long before Healing Saathi came into existence. Compassionate towards animals since childhood, Mugdha began taking independent initiatives to help animals in need at the age of 17, volunteering and rescuing animals wherever she could.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Mugdha had received an opportunity to begin her career as a cabin crew member. However, the pandemic brought everything to a halt before she could join.
During the lockdown, while feeding stray animals, she often came across injured, sick and helpless dogs and cats who needed immediate help. She began rescuing them, taking them to veterinary clinics for treatment and bringing them home when they had nowhere else to go.
When the lockdown finally came to an end, she received the call to join her cabin crew job. But by then, her life had taken a completely different turn.
She could not leave them behind.
For many of those animals, she was the only one they had.
Instead of walking away from the animals who had come to depend on her, Mugdha made one of the biggest decisions of her life — she chose to dedicate herself completely to animal welfare.
At the age of 20, she decided to turn her individual efforts into something bigger and more permanent.
That small rented space soon became home to around 40–50 permanent residents. Individual donors gradually joined the journey, helping Healing Saathi continue rescuing, treating and caring for more animals.
What began with a few rescued animals sharing a single room at home has gradually grown into a large animal sanctuary, now home to 300+ permanent residents, with its own fully equipped veterinary hospital.
And the journey continues — because we still cannot look away.
“I didn't start with a plan to build a sanctuary. I simply couldn't look away when an animal needed help.”
On a Quest to Heal the Needy.
Our work is driven by compassion, action and the belief that no animal should suffer simply because help is unavailable.
To Rescue. To Heal. To Protect.
Our mission is to rescue animals in distress and provide them with the treatment, rehabilitation, care and shelter they need to recover and live with dignity. Through our dedicated veterinary hospital and sanctuary, we strive to ensure that every animal receives the medical attention and long-term care they deserve.
Over the years, Healing Saathi has grown from a small rescue effort into a dedicated animal sanctuary with its own fully equipped veterinary hospital, working towards a more compassionate and responsible world for animals.
